Faded intentions...

Deary me, it's been a considerable while. I vaguely remember a plan to blog AT LEAST once a week, and finding myself a couple of weeks later not having done it, amended that to at least once a month. But then there was the Summer. So now revised intentions are to get blogging regularly with work I'm doing as it happens, BUT not tonight, FAR too much to be doing! And so a spell of procrastination has led me here, so perhaps I'll post a photo of a project in progress...

Great Britishness...

Tonight, teatime made me feel delightfully English... a summery light evening, family round the table, fish and chips and peas, Heinz ketchup and Hellmann's mayonnaise and HP brown sauce, pots and cups and mugs of tea, damson crumble goldening(?!) in the oven and the minute details outside 10 Downing Street drifting in from the TV courtesy of my lovely Mum's amusing, newly-developed infatuation with politics! I do like things that are iconic and distinctive to different cultures. So here're some sketchbook pages with my takes on the Union Jack...

Heels and Achievements...

I love a sense of achievement. Achievement 1) I decided I was going to blog, TODAY, and, after tweeting this outrageous goal, (and therefore making myself accountable to the whole world of people that don't know I exist, let alone read my tweets, or go anywhere near this blog), here I am, tap-tapping at the keyboard, and shortly, or not so shortly as the case may be, those high-flying dreams of having a three post blog will be mine. I never denied being melodramatic.

Achievement 2) to make a start at getting pictures on this here page o' mine. Very almost there.

And the actual subject of this post... my recent goal 3) to become more accomplished in heel-wearing. Yes, a noble aim I'm sure you'll agree. So, here we are, many stilletto marks in the lino later. An updated blog, a picture, and hope for my one lone pair of heels to see daylight more often.

The immiscible- ideas and sleep.

Well, it's one of those nights... one where ideas spin and dance, and appear much more tantalizing and sparkling than they probably will in the cold light of morning. But might as well relish it and write it, instead of resenting the fact that I'm not asleep.

Last night, age ago that it feels, we watched Tim Burton's "Big Fish". Connie like. I know I'm rather partial to his stuff, but that I'm unfamiliar with far too much of it, so I've resolved to amend this. (Today I actually went so far as to watch the trailer for Sweeney Todd, and was surprised to discover that I am willing to sit through the gore, it looks SO worth it :D.) There's an unpenned list in me, of films that totally inspire me... just give me 'get up 'n go'... to go create....

And tonight, as I sat, boogly-eyed, watching the BAFTAs, it got itself on that list...

(... though admittedly not just a film, but I think it counts :s!)

Tonight I fancy myself a Film-Maker, a Cameraman, a Cinematographer, a Director, an Actress, a Singer, a Dancer, a West End Leading Lady, a Choreographer, a Makeup Artist, a Set Designer, a Costume Designer, a Fashion Designer, an Animator, a Story Teller/Spinner, a Traveller, an Art Student, an Illustrator, a Sew-er not a sewer... and on that bizarre note, it can be an end.
